Everyone has an opinion about who you should be, how you should act, and what you should do. Be an empowered woman, but don’t be bossy. Be sexy, but not too sexy. Make decisions, but make the right ones—whatever that even means.

And then, life happens.

Suddenly, you find yourself in one of the hardest, most intimate moments of your life, and instead of support, you’re met with opinions, judgments, and clinical indifference. The last thing you need is another lecture, another cold waiting room, or another person talking at you instead of with you.

The medical world wasn’t built for women like you.

Stepping into a clinic shouldn’t feel like a diagnosis of your life. You shouldn’t feel like the subject of an investigation under fluorescent lights. But too often, that’s what happens. Medicine has a way of evoking illness and shame, especially when it comes to your sexuality. It reduces something beautifully complicated to a checklist of problems to solve.
